Daybook Entry for July 21, 2008

Photobucket

FOR TODAY (July 21, 2008)...

Outside My Window The sun is setting in the west, casting colors across the sky that are so beautiful. I see a few crows flying . . . home???. . .
and the last of the cardinals having a late night snack before calling it a night.

I am thinking... Way too many thoughts. My mind seems to never stop, jumping from one thing to another and another. It's hard to concentrate lately.

I am thankful for... My two sisters!

From the kitchen... The best ever yellow squash patties. I don't know who had them posted on their blog, but if you see them in your blogging trails, copy that recipe. Boy, were they ever good!

I am wearing... Tee shirt, black slacks . . . and, since I can't wear a bra, AN UNDERSHIRT! My sister suggested this, as she wore one after surgery for her port placement. And again, I'm barefoot!

I am creating... More angels. Miriads of angels!

I am going... Nowhere. I've become a real homebody.

I am reading... A whole lot about my type of cancer, about foods that have estrogen hormones, about things I need to stay away from. Scarey stuff out there that has been added to food!!!

I am hoping... This new drug works for me. It sounds so promising in all that I have read.

I am hearing... My air conditioner running. It was soooo HOT today.

Around the house... Does the laundry never get caught up? There are only two of us and I seem to be doing so much wash lately!!!!

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week. . . The only thing on my schedule for this week is a trip to the vet for Buster to get his shots, and to get his ears checked. He's flapping those things around pretty hard, so I guess it's ear mites!

Here is picture thought I am sharing...

"God will make a way
Where there seems to be no way
He works in ways we cannot see
He will make a way for me
He will be my guide
Hold me closely to His side
With love and strength
For each new day
He will make a way
He will make a way

By a roadway in the wilderness
He'll lead me
And rivers in the desert will I see
Heaven and earth will fade
But His Word will still remain
He will do something new today"
--Don Moen

"This is the way. . . . walk ye in it!"

Cora: We were watching the sun set from our kitchen window tonight with the humming of the air conditioning in the background.

And hoping that your new medication would work wonders for you...

During dinner, Hannah the 8 year old said "Mom... did you hear from Cora today"? "Is she getting better"?

You are one loved lady :)

Hugs & Prayers... *Linda* & family

Thanks for popping by my blog Cora. Wow, you learnt to iron when you were in school!? Ha ha, that's so sweet. I wish they taught me that, when I first had to start doing these things, I was useless.
Inspiring blog, it's great to see that you and your sister have such love for each other. You are in my thoughts, and prayers. I'll be popping over to your blog again.

To answer your question ~ no laundry never does get caught up. The cry of "I'm out of underwear or socks or jeans" never seems to stop around here thought I faithfully wash every day. I just don't understand that?

I, too, am praying that the Lord just helps that medicine to work the best it ever has!

I love that song, Cora! It was perfect for me today. Thank you!

Love,
Lea

I am glad our friend found you to tell you about the free cancer meds. I didn't know about this site myself. I hope you are able to work it out with them and get help. I know what it is like to need meds and have no money to buy them. God is good. He will send help from places you don't expect.

I love the lyrics to this song. My favorite for times when the going gets rough is "Speak to the Mountain" by Jeff and Sherri Easter..Songs can minister to us just as much a a Preacher can.

Hi Cora,
I always love reading your daybooks. I forgot to do that again this week. Need a reminder stamped to my forehead* ~ I am curious what the foods are that have estrogen in them. You are gonna whoop me but I am on HRT still from my hysterectomy. A low dose but still, .. I am going to check into gettin off it. If you would could you tell us about the foods with estrogen?
I'm glad you are making angels. I asked my "angel mother" to hang out with you some. If you feel a warm fuzzy , or see a dragonfly here n there... she is really a cute little grey headed Momma angel in disguise. She hugs reeeeally tight*
Much Love,
Lea

Just thought I would check in and see how you are doing Cora. You sound good. The drug is going to work for you. I know that because I have asked God to allow it to work for you and have faith that He will. Within 6 months I see you with your cancer in remission and you cheerful and your life full of joy. I hope all your friends will join me in this "creative visualization".

There is a reason for everything and a purpose to everything that happens to us. I wonder if what you are going through is meant for you to collate all the information you have gathered and to post it on your blog for others at some point when you are past this episode in your life. I have heard it said that God never puts more on one than they can bear.
You must be a very strong woman Cora.

Cora, I just wanted to drop by and see how you're doing...it's always a blessing for me to visit with you.
You are in my prayers.
You were right about the things in our food. I had never given it a serious thought until my husband and I hit that wonderful magic age (!) and began to watch our weight and health more carefully. I was astounded at the amounts of sugar in foods that I didn't realize even had sugar, not to mention the artificial this' and that's. It has made me a lot more consious of what we are doing not only to ourselves but our family as well.
Laundry? I was sure when our girls grew up that laundry would be but a dream- I would do maybe a load or two a week--Hah! I don't think I'll ever catch up...it seems to reproduce in the hamper overnight!
I am so happy that you have your sisters; and I hope that you can see what an impact you have on so many other lives; and how loved you are.
Hugs,
Pam

Dear Cora,
I also am praying the medicine is doing the job. And just in general, praying for you!

I wanted to warn you that I am tagging you-I've never done this, but I'm sure you have before. Please don't feel obligated to play. I'll have the rules and stuff up on my blog later today, like this evening. Hope Buster's ears are better. Our Lab had that trouble too.(She's snoring away right now)
My whole family is praying for you.
Love, Debra

I don't know what I would do without music in my life also! IT is so relaxing..

AS far as Buster, Clean his ears every other day or so, with a cotton pad soaked in vineger/water mix and put your little finger over the pad and poke down in his ear. It should come up dark colored if he has potatoes growing them like my mom used to say.
I do it for my dogs and all the dogs I babyXXX- Dog-sit.LOL!
Lisa says it stinks, but , it helps!
